The desire of Podere La Berta is to share the world of living well in Romagna.

All the efforts go to support the local area, which produces the finest-tasting foods and fosters and encourages ancient professions and new ideas, all the fruit of our own hands.

At Podere La Berta people are committed to the recovery and promotion of this heritage, where wines are set within a lifestyle of slow living and genuine beauty.

Because of the exciting project of the rebranding and need of reposition the wines in the global markets and better convey their values and identity, we have specifically selected the forgotten fruits, the expression of an extraordinary and very distinctive biodiversity, as the distinguishing element on our wine labels, each thus becoming the symbol of an individual wine. Each label bears a pencil sketch of a fruit, just like a botanical illustration, and is presented in a separate colour that identifies its history in our world.

The Forgotten Fruits are ancient fruit trees that in the early 20th century were commonly cultivated near Romagna farmhouses or along the boundaries of the fields, and even utilised as supports for grapevines. Up until the aftermath of the Second World War, they furnished the farmers with valuable components of their meals, ranging from breakfast to wintertime holiday feasts.

Memories of childhood, of rituals, of nature both within and outside time; spaces enlarged and familiar; unusual yet evocative flavours; names of berries and blossoms that become memory and allow us to touch the past — such are our forgotten fruits, whose dimensions match our wines and its people.
